The Dairy sector in Malaysia
DEiPAC bv was invited by the Dutch agricultural attache (ministry LNV) to study and give opinions and advice about the further development of the Dairy sector in Malaysia. We participated in a conference dealing with the dairy future of Malaysia. Malaysia now produces only 4% of total milk and milkproduct consumption under very variable tropical circumstances. Together with a specialist from WUR/ASG we traveled the country to get an idea about what possibilities there are and what is needed. We advised to move to a triple crossbreeding strategy, several management and feeding aspects, the prevention and treatment of diseases etc. Dutch Lady (Friesland Campina locally active) need more fresh milk locally produced because of increasing demand.
